Malkajgiri Water Supply Scheme taken up under

Municipal Development Project (MDP) with World Bank Assistance

 The Project was sanctioned vide GO MS.No.288 MA, dated: 21.4.2009 & GO Rt.No.1222 MA, dated: 27.8.2009, under MDP with World bank Assistance at a cost of Rs.338.55 Crores.

• The funding pattern is Rs.236.98 Crores (70%) grant, Rs.67.71 Cr (20%) Loan under World Bank Assistance and Rs.33.85 Crs (10%) ULB Share.
•  The project works were taken up in two packages as below. 

•  The agreements were concluded during June’2014.
• The project period is 24 months.
• Most of the reservoir sites have been taken possession from the GHMC / Waqf Board.

 Physical Progress:

Reservoirs:

• The total number of reservoirs to be built – 12 Nos
• Its storage capacity – 45.70 ML
• Individual reservoir capacity ranging from 700 KL  to 18 ML
• 10 reservoir works are grounded. For remaining 2 reservoirs due to land constraint a combined GLSR is proposed.
• All grounded reservoirs are in brisk progress and nearing completion.
• Pump Houses at Sainikpuri, Vajpayee Nagar, Gauthamnagar & Moulali are in brisk progress and nearing completion.
• It is programmed to complete and commission the reservoir in phased manner by Mar’2017.

 Pipelines:

• The total length of pipeline to be laid is 386.50 Km.
• The procurement of MS / DI pipelines for total length is completed.
• Laying of pipeline network i.e. inlets, outlets and distribution mains is completed for a length of 353.7 Km. It is programmed to complete the laying of pipeline network by Mar’2017.
