WATER BULLETIN ON 20.03.2016
The Managing Director, HMWSSB reviewed the quality and quantity of water supplied with the Directors. By today supplies were normalized, which were affected due to shut down taken on 16th March 2016. The water treated at Mallaram Water Treatment Plant found to be satisfactory. Mr. Ramana Rao, GM(E), QAT inspected the Ghanpur reservoir on 20.03.2016 and reported that treated water sample is found to be satisfactory. As the pumps restarted after rectification of leakage, due to increase in velocity caused turbulence in the pipeline with which the particles which causes turbidity in the water and settled in the down portions of the pipe line which is more than 200 KMs long may unsettle and may cause some turbidity for a couple of days. The consumers who are getting water through Godavari project i.e, Quthbullapur, Kukatpally, Serlingampally, Ameerpet, Borabanda, Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills are informed that the little turbidity may appear for another couple of days. Consumers are advised to boil and filter the water or any disinfectant method before consumption for drinking purpose. However, instructions were issued to sample takers of QAT wing to intensively monitor the quality of water supplied for a couple of days till normalcy is restored.
