Sri M.G. Gopal, IAS, Spl. Chief Secretary to TS Govt, MA&UD Dept, categorically stressed the need for taking up construction of Rain Water Harversting structures in a big way for better water availability in future.

He was chairing an Awareness Programme’ on RWH onTuesday at Metro Water Board Office, Khairatabad.

He said that in the wake of depleting water levels in reservoirs and ground water, there is every need to not only propagate the idea of taking up RWH structures but practically constructing RWH pits in all available places before the onset of monsoon.

The programme  was conducted by HMWSSB wherein the representatives of various state and central government institutions like Industries, Transport, Pollution Control Board, Labour, Social Welfare, Tourism, TSRTC, Education, NFC, Central & State Ground Water Depts, CREDAI, Railways, Sec’bad Contonment Board, etc. participated.

Speaking on the occasion, Sri M. Dana Kishore, IAS, Managing Director, HMWS&SB said in the next two months, the Rain Water Harvesting programme will be implemented intensively.

RWH structures will be constructed in Social Welfare Hostels, Hospitals, Industries, Educational Institutions, Office premises with in ORR Limits.

A nodal officer is nominated from each department and training will be imparted to their employees from 29th April to 6th May, 2016 by ESCI in coordination with HMWS&SB about the scientific way of erecting RWH structures and effective implementation of this programme.
