ENSURE NOT TO OPEN MANHOLE COVERS DURING RAINS- MD, HMWSSB ON 07.09.2021

Sri M. Dana Kishore, IAS Managing Director, HMWSSB has convened an emergency meeting on the 07th September 2021 and directed the authorities concerned to take all precautionary measures to ensure that the people do not have to worry about drinking water due to incessant rains. They must ensure that the drinking water shall not be polluted due to rains. In the wake of heavy rains for the last few days the Managing Director has directed the officials to take action to prevent any trouble to the citizens.

They should not be any sewerage overflows or overflowing manholes in the city. Arrangements must be made by distributing bleaching powder and chlorine tablets to avoid seasonal diseases if any. Consumers need not panic over getting mud water in the taps they should boil the drinking water and consume. Around 6.50 lakh chlorine tablets have been distributed in problematic areas he added. The officials have to collect water samples where contamination have occurred and resolve them on priority.

The Managing Director appealed the people not to open manhole covers at any cost and if any problem arises they can call to customer care 155 313.
