SAFETY MEASURES SHOULD BE GIVEN PRIORITY IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF STPS–MD, HMWSSB ON 06.07.2022

Sri M. Dana Kishore, IAS, Managing Director, HMWSSB said that workers' protection should be given priority in the construction of sewage treatment plants (STPs). It is known that the state government has taken up construction of 31 new sewage treatment plants (STPs) at a cost of Rs.3,866.21 crores with the aim of treating 100% of the sewage produced in the city of Hyderabad. He reviewed the progress of STPs works with HMWSSB officials and construction companies at Board office on 06-07-2022.

The workers at the construction sites must use protective equipment for safety and secure. He suggested that the construction works should be completed by October end 2022 and the agencies are to increase the number of workers to work in 3 shifts. The officers must visit the manufacturing companies and ensure the quality and delivery of the machinery equipment on time. The MD has reviewed the overall progress of all STPs under construction in 3 packages.
