A workshop on city level water conservation and rain water utilization was held at Board office, Khairatabad on 29-07-2022. The program organized by Water Aid in collaboration with HMWSSB, Telangana State Water Resource Development Corporation and Telangana State Ground Water Department. Sri Dana Kishore, MD, HMWSSB, Sri V. Prakash, TSWRDC Chairman, Sri Dr. Pandit, Director of Ground Water Department attended the program.

Water Aid organization... is conducting awareness programs for water conservation in the city in association with HMWSSB and various government agencies for longer time. Recently, the programs of this organization to augment the groundwater in Kukatpally area have been successful. With this, it is time to expand these programs across the city, said Rajesh Ranga Rajan, Director of State Programs of Water Aid.

Sri M. Dana Kishore, MD, HMWSSB said that if water is not wasted... it is like saving. Educated people have been asked to be more responsible towards saving water and also take the lead in making others aware. It is our responsibility to use water wisely and protect water resources.

HMWSSB has undertaken many programs for water conservation every year. A large-scale water conservation program “Water Leadership and Conservation (WaLC)“ has been done to promote water saving activates to save water by conducting various programmes like Jala Bhagyam, Jalam Jeevam, Awareness Runs involving various Public Representatives, RWAs, NGOs. The HMWSSB has constructed thousands of RWH Pits across the city at various occasions.

The HMWSSB is supplying water from Krishna and Godavari rivers free of charge to meet the water needs of the city dwellers after spending a lot of effort from far away areas. Therefore, he suggested that water should not be wasted.

Sri V. Prakash, Chairman, TSWRDC said that water conservation is possible only through peoples participation. The RWH Theme Park which was constructed by HMWSSB is amazing and the same is being replicating in other states.

Various NGO representatives, members of RWAs, Basthi Vikas Manch members and other organizations participated on occasion.
