THE MD, HMWSSB INSPECTED NEW STPS CONSTRUCTION SITES AT AMBERPET, NALLACHERUVU AND NAGOLE ON 10.11.2022

Sri M. Dana Kishore, IAS, Managing Director, HMWSSB inspected the STPs which are under construction at Amberpet, Nallacheruvu and Nagole on 10-11-2022 and inquired about the progress of three STPs from the concerned officials and agencies and instructed to complete the construction works of sewage treatment plants (STP) by June' 2023.

During the visit the Managing Director expressed his displeasure over the construction company delaying the work without deploying sufficient number of workers and advised to increase the number of workers, materials and machinery  available and speed up the works within the stipulated time. The MD has suggested that the works are to be done in three shifts and the necessary electro-mechanical equipment should be utilized and made top priority for safety measures at all the worksites.

The MD has said, since the STP at Nagole is the largest among other STP's with a capacity of 320.00 MLD he instructed the officials to study feasibility conditions for the construction of a Rainwater Harvesting Theme Park or a Rock Garden along with an HMWSSB office establishment at Nagole STP site and suggested to give top priority for landscaping to promote greenery and  environmental protection at all STPs premises.

Details of STP's under Construction:

The HMWSSB is constructing a total of 31 Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) in Greater Hyderabad with an ambitions of treating 1257.50 MLDs (Million Liters Per Day) of sewage under three packages at a cost of Rs. 3,800 Crore with an intension of 100 percent sewage treatment in the city. As a part of this, in Package-I, 8 STPs are being constructed in Alwal, Malkajgiri, Kapra, Uppal Circles with a cost of Rs.1230.21 crore. The total capacity of these STP's is 402.50 MLDs. In Package-II, 6 STPs are being constructed at a cost of Rs.1355.33 crore in Rajendranagar and LB Nagar Circles with a capacity of 480.50 MLDs. In Package-III, 17 STPs are being constructed at a cost of Rs.1280.87 crore in Kukatpally, Kuthbullapur and Serilingampally Circles with the capacity of 376.5 MLDs.
