Sri M. Dana Kishore, IAS, Managing Ditector, HMWSSB along with Dr. M. Satyanarayana, ED, D. Sridhar Babu, Director Projects, CGM STP, officials visited Nalla Cheruvu and Pedda Cheruvu STPs which are under construction on 04-01-2023.

The MD inquired about the progress of IND, Inlet, Outlet, Wet Well etc. and instructed the officials to speed up the works of the two STPs simultaneously and make them available before March 2023 by making arrangements and also to take strict safety measures at worksites. The surrounding areas of the STPs are to be developed by gardening and planting for pleasant environment, greenery in all STP areas.

The MD said, the new STPs are being constructed with advanced sequencing batch reactor technology as space is scarce in metro cities. The construction of STPs with SBR technology is suitable and due to this, five stages of sewage treatment process is being done in a single chamber. This SBR method is less costly and better treated sewage in a easy procedure and it also consumes less power.
