The Government has accorded administrative sanction for the “Water Supply Distribution Network Project for the Peripheral Circles of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation” at an estimated cost of Rs.1900 Crores vide GO Ms.N0.138, MA&UD(UBS) Dept., dated: 21.10.2015.

The Government accorded Administrative Sanction for the project vide G.O.Ms.No.262, MA&UD (C) Dept, dated: 04.11.2016, to take up the project under Annuity Mode. Brief Details of project are as below.

The Project was sanctioned vide GO MS.No.288 MA, dated: 21.4.2009 & GO Rt.No.1222 MA, dated: 27.8.2009, under MDP with World bank Assistance at a cost of Rs.338.55 Crores.

In the high level meetings the Government has advised HMWSSB to stop the drawls from Singur / Manjira system to delineate the source water to Mission Bagheeratha drinking water.

The Government contemplated to create two new Storage Reservoirs within the vicinity of Hyderabad City for ensuring reliable storage. One reservoir is being considered at Keshavapuram, Shameerpet Mandal and another at Devalamma Nagaram, Choutuppal Mandal.

The Government has accorded the Administrative Sanction for the Godavari Drinking Water Supply Project Ph-I for an amount of Rs.3375 Crores vide GO Ms.No.679 of MA&UD(W1)Dept, dt:26-9-2008.

The Government has accorded administrative sanction for the Krishna Phase-III project vide GO Ms.325 MA&UDD, dated: 24-8-2012 with permission to avail Rs.1500 Crores loan assistance from HUDCO with Government guarantee.

The HMWS&S board has constructed about 2338 Rainwater Harvesting Structure(Recharge pits) with the volume of about 7900 Cum in the prmises of individual applicants.

•  The agreements were concluded during June’2014.
• The project period is 24 months.
• Most of the reservoir sites have been taken possession from the GHMC / Waqf Board.

 Physical Progress:

Reservoirs:

• The total number of reservoirs to be built – 12 Nos
• Its storage capacity – 45.70 ML
• Individual reservoir capacity ranging from 700 KL  to 18 ML
• 10 reservoir works are grounded. For remaining 2 reservoirs due to land constraint a combined GLSR is proposed.
• All grounded reservoirs are in brisk progress and nearing completion.
• Pump Houses at Sainikpuri, Vajpayee Nagar, Gauthamnagar & Moulali are in brisk progress and nearing completion.
• It is programmed to complete and commission the reservoir in phased manner by Mar’2017.

 Pipelines:

• The total length of pipeline to be laid is 386.50 Km.
• The procurement of MS / DI pipelines for total length is completed.
• Laying of pipeline network i.e. inlets, outlets and distribution mains is completed for a length of 353.7 Km. It is programmed to complete the laying of pipeline network by Mar’2017.

• Two reservoir sites at Kowkur& Jonnabanda are yet to be received.

• The total number of reservoirs to be built – 56 Nos.
• Its storage capacity-279-ML
• Individual reservoir capacity ranging from 1 ML to 22.5 ML.
• 54 reservoir works are grounded.  For 2 reservoirs i.e,. at Kowkur& Jonnabanda, land yet to be transferred from Collector, R.R.District.
• All grounded reservoir works are in brisk progress.
• It is programmed to complete and commission the reservoir in phased manner.

 Pipelines:

• The total length of pipeline to be laid in 2600 Km.  The procurement of MS/DI pipelines is in progress.
• Inlet Mains: It is programmed to complete the laying of inlet mains in phased manner.
• Outlet and Distribution mains: It is programmed to complete the laying of outlet & distribution mains in phased manner.

Project funding is HUDCO Loan of Rs.2000 Crores and balance amount is from State Government budget.

The works are taken up in 3 packages on EPC. Contract value Rs.2861 Crores.
