Sri K.T. Rama Rao, Minister of MA&UD has laid foundation stone for new STPs under Package-3 at a cost of Rs 3,866 crore on 25-01-2022 in Quthubullapur Circle. A total of 5 sewerage treatment plants will be constructed under Package-3 at a cost of Rs. 248.44 crore within the Quthubullapur Circle. Their total capacity is 66 MLD. New STPs will be set up at Fox Sagar, Vennelagadda, Gayatri Nagar, Parikicheruvu and Shivalayanagar.

The Minister said that the suburbs around Hyderabad are growing rapidly and there is a need to develop the infrastructural facilities according to the population growth.

Details of 31 new STPs.

The Water Board has directed to construct Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) as part of the Sewerage Master Plan in the suburban and municipal areas. The Water Board will construct a total of 31 Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) within the Greater Hyderabad area under a total of three packages with the objective of treating 1257.50 MLD (million liters per day) of wastewater on a regular basis.
