LAUNCHING OF 162 SILT CARTING VEHICLES BY SRI K.T. RAMA RAO, HON'BLE MINISTER FOR MA&UD 0N 02.10.2023

Sri K.T. Rama Rao, Hon'ble Minister for MA&UD in presence of various Ministers, Public Representatives, Officials have launched the 162 Silt Carting Vehicles introduced by HMWSSB on 02-10-2023 near Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Statue in Necklace Road for providing better services to citizens and benefitting the families under Dalit Bandhu. The Minster said these Silt Carting Vehicles have been made available to provide better sanitation services to the people of the city besides benefiting many Dalit families and handed over the vehicles keys to the beneficiaries.

Sri M. Dana Kishore, IAS, Managing Director, HMWSSB in his welcome address said that the HMWSSB has proposed the MA&UD Minister for the need of 162 silt carting vehicles for immediate sanitation cleaning, whereas the Minister KTR has suggested that they should be provided under the Dalit Bandhu scheme. As per the instruction of the Minister the HMWSSB has taken immediate steps  for identifying the beneficiaries through SC corporations. The Silt Carting Vehicles drivers and staff will earn an income of Rs.97,000/-. The HMWSSB will also provide the security equipment worth Rs.3000/-. He said the beneficiaries were already been trained for two days for providing better sanitation services through these vehicles and all of them are expected to work responsibly in the discharge of their duties and bring good name to the HMWSSB and the government. Among these vehicles, 88 vehicles belonging to Hyderabad district will be available from 03-10-2023. The HMWSSB officials informed the beneficiaries in which section and area they should work. Rest of the districts will be made available soon.  The MD has conveyed special thanks to Hon'ble Chief Minister and MA&UD Minister for a great opportunity to HMWSSB for sanctioning for huge number of vehicles to the needy people under Dalit Bandhu.

Sri K.T. Rama Rao, said that CM KCR has initiated many welfare schemes and programs like Dalit Bandhu with his vision and foresight in Swarashtram, which is revolutionary. As a part of this, 162 silt cart vehicles have been provided to Dalits to work with HMWSSB benefitting about 500 people get direct employment in keeping our Hyderabad and Environment clean.

The Minister further said that,  as part of the Dalita Bandhu scheme introduced by the Telangana State Government, it has already given employment to many families in many constituencies. It is also decided to provide benefit some more families by providing silt carting vehicles run by the HMWSSB under Dalit Bandhu scheme. The main objective of this scheme is to provide livelihood to many Dalit families and keep the city clean. The HMWSSB has also taken similar stops in the past by introducing Sewer jetting machines in the year 2017 to maintain clean city clean applauded by the people.

After the meeting the Minister flagged off the Silt Carting Vehicles with all the dignitaries attended the meeting.

Earlier the Minister paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. BR Ambedkar portrait on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.

A Note on Silt Carting Vehicles: Beneficiaries of 4 districts.. 162 vehicles.

Officials have selected 162 people from Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medchal- Malkajgiri and Sangareddy districts. The selection process of the beneficiaries was done under the supervision of the Collectors of the respective districts with the approval of the concerned MLAs. Each of them will be provided with 162 vehicles each. These beneficiaries were also informed about this on 26th of last month. Out of the 162 sections under the HMWSSB, one section will be allotted. They have to work within their limits.

 Benefits of silt carting vehicle:

 · HMWSSB provides job for each silt carting vehicle under job guarantee scheme.

 · Pays rental charges on a monthly basis to remove the garbage and transport it to the designated location. Apart from this, the labor and management expenses will also be paid by HMWSSB itself.

 · As per AMC rules, the vehicle manufacturer pays vehicle checking and service charges every three months to keep the vehicles in good condition at all times.

 · Each vehicle has a driver and two assistants. If the family members of the beneficiaries of these vehicles are the driver and staff... about Rs. 1.20 lakh income. Shoes, uniform, helmet, glove worn in performance of duty Rs. HMWSSB provides security equipment worth 3 thousand. In the initial period, vehicle insurance was also contracted to be paid by the vehicle manufacturer.

162 vehicles cost Rs. 1.944 crores per month.. per year Rs. 23.33 crores will be required.
