A three-day training program on Geographic Information System (GIS) conducted for 25 people (GM, DGMs, Managers) of HMWSSB at Board office from 22 to 24 Jan, 2024. Sri C. Sudharsan Reddy, IAS Managing Director, HMWSSB gave the certificates to DGMs and managers including a GM among those who have received training.

HMWSSB, which is constantly introducing modern technology to provide better services to its customers, is ready to use another technology. For this, in November last year, a GIS Cell was established. Through this, board programs like O&M operations, network monitoring, planning, etc. can be implemented more effectively.

Earlier, the Central Design Cell (CDC) of HMWSSB has been operating for the last 13 years and used to manage GIS data related to water supply and sewage management. Whenever any information related to the data map was required.. the officials would come to the CDC and take that information and use it for solving the problems at the field level. But with the establishment of latest GIS Cell.. the concerned officials can access that information at the section level at the field level. As a result, the data is available to the concerned authorities, reducing time and providing better services.
