WORLD WATER DAY 2023 CELEBRATIONS AT BOARD OFFICE ON 21.03.2023

World Water Day 2023 - Theme: Accelerating Change - "To solve water and sanitation crisis" celebrated at Board office on 21-03-2023. Sri.M. Dana Kishore, IAS, Managing Director, HMWSSB, Sister Anjali Devi, Didi Shobhadevi from Brahma Kumari participated as chief guest and started the program by lighting the Jyoti.

The Managing Director said Telangana is a newly formed state in the country, yet it has the distinction of being the first state to provide drinking water to every household and this was possible due to the leadership and efforts of CM KCR and Municipal Administration Minister KTR. He said that 99.16 percent of the people in the Hyderabad city use the water supplied by the HMWSSB and revealed the same by the central government itself. By this July, Hyderabad will be the first city in the country to treat 100 percent sewage water. Water Digest magazine has already given recently the best STP award in the government sector to HMWSSB through Union Cabinet Minister of Jal Shakti Sri Gajendra Singh Shekawat praised the HMWSSB while presenting the award at New Delhi on 16-03-2023. He congratulated the engineers, officers and staff who played an important role in achieving this feat.

The MD has clarified that the state government has take up the Sunkishala project in a very prestigious manner. Even if the population of Hyderabad will increase three times, there will be no shortage of drinking water for the people of the city for the next 40 years. He said that the works related to this project is under speedy progress

Further the MD has stated that HMWSSB is conducting tests of 12,000 water samples daily, unlike any other water board in the country and being conducted in the presence of consumers.

He said that many programs will be undertaken to inform the people about the value of water and create awareness for last many years. On the occasion of the world water day 2023 the awareness campaign will be done for 10 days on preventing wastage of water and the essence of water importance incordination with NGOs in all O&M Divisions. Later, the MD has launched 2 vehicles to spread the awareness campaign across the city on water values and released the IEC material pertains to the awareness campaign.

Dr. M. Satyanarayana, Executive Director along with all Directors of the Water Board, CGMs, GMs, DGMs, NGOs and other officials participated in the program.
