MORE NEW STPS ARE IN FINAL STAGE FOR INAUGURATION ON 22.08.2023

Sri M. Dana Kishore, IAS Managing Director, HMWSSB inspected Fateh Nagar, Pedda Cheruvu, Nalla Cheruvu and Nagol STPs along with the concerned officials on 22-08-2023 and instructed the concerned officials to prepare the STPs for trail run which are under final stage of construction.

He inspected the inlet, outlet and pipe line expansion works. While completing the civil works of SBR, PTU, Internal roads, landscaping, lighting and other works and instructed to fastening the work and complete quickly for trial run of all the above STPs.

Since Nagole STP (capacity of 320 MLDs) is large in area, he authorities are advised to study the feasibility of constructing a theme park related to water conservation and waste water management in this STP premises. A proposal has also to be made for constructing an indoor auditorium to enable students and enthusiasts to understand about STPs, who are studying sewage treatment plant process and other aspects.

Presently 1650 MLD of sewage is being generated daily in the GHMC area and out of 772 MLD of sewage is being treated through the existing 25 STPs and to treat remaining 878 MLD of sewage, the state government has taken up the construction of 31 new sewage treatment plants at a cost of Rs.3,866.41 crores through HMWSSB.

After completion of these 31 STPs, the sewage problem in the city will be solved treating 1282 MLD of sewage daily through advanced sequencing batch reactor technology.
