Sri.M.Dana Kishore, Managing Director, IAS, HMWSSB planted saplings at Himayatsagar Park on 26-08-2023 as part of the Plantation of One Crore Saplings program on occasion of ‘Swatantra Bharat Vajrotsavalu’ celebrations.

The MD said that HMWSSB is focusing in sapling and protecting the forest species trees in the Miyawaki method and have already planted  saplings in all the premises of the Board offices by following the procedure to plant more saplings in less area. He said that due to the cultivation of plants, the rainfall is increased along with clean air and  the greenery will increase decreasing the hot temperature in the city.

The MD also said that the mini forest created by HMWSSB earlier in the premises of Water Treatment Plants at Mallaram, Kondapaka, Kodandapur, and at the Osmansagar, Himayatsagar reservoir premises, and at the Amberpet STP premises and other areas by planting 10,000 saplings of Miyawaki method. The saplings planted include  Raavi, Badam, Allaneredu, Kanuga, Aegisa, Amla, Tani, Guava, Sampangi, Sitafal, Boruga, Jitregi, Bamboo, Nemalinara, Moduga, Ippa, Marri, Bahinia, Maddi, Chintaditar etc.

All the HMWSSB Directors, Senior officers, HMWSSB Plantation Cell officers and others  participated in the program.
