Sri Arvind Kumar, IAS, Special Chief Secretary along with Sri Arikepudi Gandhi, MLA Serilingampally, Smt Surabhi Vani Devi, MLC, and Gadwala Vijaya Lakshmi, Mayor GHMC have inaugurated the Durgam Cheruvu STP 7 MLD Capacity on 26-06-2023.

Speaking on the occasion, Sri Arikepudi Gandhi said that he is happy to start Durgam Cheruvu STP and praised CM KCR and Minister KTR to take up 31 new STPs construction in Hyderabad towards 100% sewage treatment is a great achievement compare to any other cities in India. He said that during the past  nine years, the Metro Water Board has undertaken many programs like One Rupee water connection, Free Drinking water supply scheme in addition to arrange thousands of new connections across the city under the visionary leadership of Minister KTR and MD Dana Kishore. He said that the drinking water problems in the city have been totally eliminated in his area by constructing 4 new reservoirs due to which the problem of drinking water has been solved. On the occasion the MLA has showed the public by holding 2 glasses of sewage water before and after treatment in the STPs.

Sri M. Dana Kishore, IAS, Managing Director, HMWSSB said that in the next two months, Hyderabad will emerge as a city that will treat 100 percent sewage with the construction of new 31 STPs. He said that apart from existing 7 MLD Durgam Cheruvu STP another 5 more STPs are planned for inauguration in first week of October  and the remaining are planned in the month of November. The MD has  thanked CM KCR and Minister KTR for allocating huge funds and required space for STPs constructions.
