OFFICIALS FROM FOUR STATES VISITED THE WATER BOARD ON 21.10.2021

A team of officials from four states Assam, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Delhi and UNISEF Consultants including the Civil Services Officers Sri Benel and Sri Sandeep from Madhya Pradesh visited the HMWSSB to get exposure on Leadership Development in City-Wide Inclusive Sanitation (CWIS) and Faecal Sludge and Septage Management (FSSM) and to examine Septic Waste Management in the city, FSTPs as a part of Study and Training Programme under the administration of UNICEF and ASCI.

During their study trip, the Team have been taken to Faecal Sludge Treatment Plant at Uppal and later the team was taken to FSTP at Boduppal which is running through Geobag technology. Later the team visited Water Board Headquarters in Khairatabad and met Sri M. Dana Kishore, MD, HMWSSB. The MD had briefed the team about the Waste Management of Septic Tanks in the city. He said that the septic tank waste is being treated to keep people for not polluting the precious drinking water. The water board would make special arrangements for the collection and treatment of septic waste from nearly 12 lakh households within the ORR purview to prevent contamination of water and land.

The MD has clarified that the Government of Telangana will be installing new FSTPs to meet the needs for the next 20 years. The Dial-A-Septic Tank Cleaner Program has been launched by the Water Board under the patronage of Hon’ble Minister for MA&UD Sri K.T. Rama Rao.
