THE MD, HMWSSB INSPECTED THE ORR PROJECT PACKAGE- 2 WORKS ON 16.03.2022

Sri M. Dana Kishore, IAS, Manager Director, HMWSSB along with Ravi Kumar, Director Technical, T.V Sridhar, CGM ORR Project inspected the ongoing ORR-2 works on 16-03-2022.

Later, he reviewed works with officials and representatives of construction companies said that 116.7 km of pipeline extension works in 73 colonies decided under the first priority in Package-2 should be completed by March 31 and water supply should be started in the second week of April. He directed to take appropriate protective measures and set up barricades at the reservoirs construction sites. He also suggested that arrangements be made to build a chlorination room at the reservoirs and a section office for the O&M Managers.

The Water Board has undertaken ORR Project in 2 Packages, at a cost of Rs. 1,200 crore to provide fresh water supply to Municipalities, Corporations, Grampanchayats, Colonies and Gated Communities within the Outer Ring Road.

Package-1 works at a cost of Rs.613 crores and under Package-2 with Rs.587 crores.

Package-2 includes the construction of 38 reservoirs with a total capacity of 71.5 million liters and the expansion of 1293 km of pipeline. Package-2 works are going on in Rajendranagar, Patancheruvu, Bollaram, Arsipuram, Kuthbullapur, Shamirpet and Medchal zones. With the completion of 2 projects, 83,270 new homes will have water supply connections.
